"The Youth Educational Centre in Cerekwica is a public institute, open all year, 7x24 hour, with acute and continued admittance, for the resocialization of socially maladapted girls in the age of 13 to 18 years.
It is a place where children and youth with specific problems have been educated for more than 100 years. It was founded in the year 1891, when the Commission for the colonization of the Grand Duchy of Poznan opened the educational institute, intended for morally neglected children who were sent there by court according to the rules of German law. Before the second world war it was an institute for boys only, afterwards until 1987 it was a correctional institute for girls, and then it became as it is today a Youth Educational Centre."
